About The Sport?
Flyball - A Sport for Dogs!!!
Flyball is the fastest growing organized dog sport in North America. Sanctioned by the North American Flyball Association (NAFA), the Buffalo Wings Flyball Team competes in tournaments throughout the Eastern and Midwestern United States and Southern Ontario, Canada. Flyball is a sport where two teams of dogs compete in a structured relay race.
Tournaments allow large numbers of teams to compete for titles. While the sport is exciting and fast paced, it is extremely safe and beneficial for the dogs involved. Flyball not only gives your dog a job, but helps to foster a strong bond between dogs and their handlers which helps build discipline and trust. The Buffalo Wings Flyball Team is involved in Western New York! We accomplish this by holding periodic training classes, and offering demonstrations to the public. Many dogs from our training program go on to competition and earn ribbons as well as career points and titles.
Our dogs have provided entertainment for audiences attending sporting events such as the Harlem Globetrotters, a Canisius College Basketball Game, and have shown their skill at pet store demonstrations, participated in various public events, and helped to raise money for charity. Our goal is not only to represent our sport, but to promote positive dog ownership in our community. If your organization is interested in the efforts of our group, the people and dogs of the Buffalo Wings welcome the opportunity to work with you!
"In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi-human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog."-- Edward Hoagland
